How It Works?

The majority of broadband suppliers use copper phone network to connect your house to the rest of the internet. When these cables were originally put in by BT, They were not designed with the internet in mind! The technologies which are put on these cables degrades with distance, resulting in poor speed and reliability.

Our service is delivered over the air using wireless technology. The technology used is the same as what is in your home “WiFi” so it is not harmful. Using this technology means we are not limited by BT’s legacy cabling and distance to their exchanges. Meaning that we can deliver faster speeds, consistently, over longer distances.

Sounds great, What about the install?

Using our own tower locations and broadcast antennas similar to mobile phone masts, we send our signal out. On the roof, side of the property or custom tower installed at your location, we mount an antenna in a similar in shape (although typically smaller) to a Sky dish, pointing towards one of the tower sites. The size of the receiving antenna will depend on distance from the nearest mast or relay site.

The antenna attached to the property will then have a cable running from it, into your property where you wish to have the router connected. This router will behave just like a regular land line router with WiFi and ethernet ports, it will also supply power to the antenna located outside.

What are the drawbacks?

The service is not affected by weather conditions and unlike satellite and 4G/5G options does not have high latency. However line of sight is required from your property to the identified tower location. We understand how important fast, reliable internet is in the modern age so every effort is made to get customers connected. To ensure this works for everyone, we will sometimes install additional relay equipment at customers premises (where consulted and agreed) or we may need to install new equipment at mast / tower locations. If required and with sufficient demand in an area, we will even run additional dedicated fibre optic cables back to the data centre!

Currently we have a mast live in Langley, providing full gigabit wireless to residents which gives us reach as far as Shelfield in Alcester. Planning is underway to expand north of the M40 to the Rowington area. We are currently prioritising the areas where Openreach are not installing FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) connections as these are faster than what we can provide using our technology.

We are continually looking at new areas, please look at our coverage map to see where we are planning to cover at present. If your location is not covered, please get in touch as we can assess interest in the area and plan further expansion.
